Fractional Program FAQ
Fractional ownership is a unique way of delivering helicopter flight services in state of the art helicopters otherwise unavailable from local charter companies. With fractional ownership, an individual or company purchases a share, or interest in a helicopter which is an “undivided lien-free interest” similar to “tenants-in-common” in real estate ownership, without assuming full maintenance or management responsibilities that come with owning your own aircraft. You purchase only as much flight time as you need to meet your travel requirements. You retain financial and legal control over your fractional asset in a specific serial numbered aircraft registered with the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA). The other owners cannot encumber your interest. Each owner is entitled to their proportionate shares of depreciation, expenses, tax benefits, etc. Executive Helishares provides all inclusive, expert aircraft management services associated with the ownership, care, and operation of your helicopter interest including trained pilots, maintenance, hangar, insurance and scheduling. The ownership experience is truly "turnkey" and hassle free. You schedule your trips with one simple phone call.
What are the initial investment and recurring costs associated with fractional ownership?
There are three cost components for the owner:
- Acquisition Cost (Share of the Helicopter Purchase Price) – a one time cost based on the interest size of the helicopter proportional to the number of hours you typically fly in a year. At the end of the program term you can re-enroll using your equity to offset your new agreement in a new aircraft. If you wish to leave the program, we offer guaranteed liquidity and repurchase of your interest at fair market value less a remarketing fee. Helishares program is based on no more than three shares per aircraft.
- Management Fee (Monthly Fixed Overhead Costs) – covers hull and liability insurance, hangar, scheduled maintenance, cleaning and concierge one call scheduling and pilot fees.
- Usage (Hourly Rate) - covers fuel and component/engine reserves. This ensures 100% maintenance quality control and availability.
How do I know if helicopter travel makes sense for me?
A helicopter will always save you time on trips up to about 250 miles, sometimes huge amounts of time. Helicopter travel makes sense when you consider your time a precious commodity and can afford to go by air. It especially makes sense when you have places you want to go, but dread the drive. We can put precise numbers on the time you can save by helicopter and the cost to do so. But first we need to know where you want to go and how often. You can share this information with us by contacting us via e-mail at firstname.lastname@example.org or phone at 818-994-1445.
